Jesus & Women by Krisi McLelland (also offered Tuesday PM)

Tuesday Mornings 9-11 AM
Dates: Sept. 10 – Oct. 29 (8 weeks)
Teachers: Pam Everly and Courtney Miller

“Take heart, daughter.”  If that was Jesus’ message for women then, it’s His message for us today. However, today’s women often miss the fullness of His promises and grace because we read about them through the lens of our own times and culture.

Kristi McClelland brings her deep knowledge of 1st century Middle Eastern culture to bear on familiar stories of Jesus’ interactions with women and thereby deepens our understanding of how Jesus sees us and what he does for us today. Join us for this this 8-week study group.

Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free
by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Tuesday Mornings -9-11 AM
Dates: Sept. 10 – Nov. 19 (11 weeks)
Teachers: Penny Miller and Linda Rice

"Many women live under a cloud of personal guilt and condemnation," says Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. "Many are in bondage to their past. Others are gripped by fear of rejection and a longing for approval. Still others are emotional prisoners."

In this book, “Nancy exposes those areas of deception most commonly believed by Christian women—lies about God, sin, priorities, marriage and family, emotions, and more. She then sheds light on how we can be delivered from bondage and set free to walk in God's grace, forgiveness, and abundant life. Nancy offers the most effective weapon to counter and overcome Satan's deceptions: God's truth!” [Amazon]

God of Freedom by Jen Wilkin

Tuesday Mornings -9-11 AM
Dates: Dates: Sept. 10 – Nov. 12 (11 weeks)
Teacher: Ann Atkinson

“In Exodus, we see God as our strong Deliverer who sets us free from sin and death to worship Him through obedience. Through this 10-session study of Exodus 19-40, Jen Wilkin revisits the familiar scenes of the giving of the Ten Commandments, the idolatrous worship of a golden calf, and the intricate details of the tabernacle. With fresh perspective, we learn to trace the promise of Christ throughout and to ask what these stories teach God’s children today about how to live as those set free.”  (Cover Copy, God of Freedom)

During these 17 lessons, readers peer into the lives of the apostles in the days, following the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, as they experience new power from the indwelling Holy Spirit and a new understanding of the Old Testament scriptures.

The book of Acts is set within the larger story of the outworking of God’s plan to save for Himself a people from every nation – – a story that runs from Genesis to Revelation.

Jesus & Women by Krisi McLelland (also offered Tuesday PM)

Tuesday Evening- 6:45-8:30PM (No childcare provided)
Dates: Sept. 10 – Oct. 22 (7 weeks)
Teacher: Sue Brixey and Sulu Farmer

Ladies this is an entirely different way to approach Bible study and we are beyond excited to share this journey with you. This is a 7- week feast and is the author’s attempt to set a biblical table around which we can come together and discover Jesus’ heart for women in His first-century world and for us now. We are going to strive to view the Bible with a Middle Eastern lens and, at the same time, study a few Bible passages in a traditionally Jewish way, the way rabbis still teach the children in Israel today.

Let’s walk into discoveries together rather than simply being taught the content or lesson. We view the Bible with our Western eyes but this study takes us deeper in God’s Word and will greatly increase the understanding of what the biblical authors meant as we learn to view with Middle Eastern eyes! As noted: we will be starting at 6:45pm this time!

Luke: Gut-Level Compassion by Lisa Harper

Thursday PM - 6:30-8:00 PM - CHILD CARE PROVIDED IF NEEDED
Dates: Sept. 12 – Nov. 7 (9 weeks)
Teachers: Lee-Ann McKay and Katherine Wingate

“Many of us believe that we aren’t good enough to meet other people’s expectations. Maybe you can’t wrap words around why, but lurking beneath the surface of the carefully curated façade you present in public, it’s there. Being missed and marginalized by others moves us to assume we’re not quite good enough for God either. The great news woven throughout the Gospel according to Luke is that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. In fact, this riveting account reveals that Jesus is especially fond of ragamuffins in need of a safe place to lean in and linger! {Join us as we study this gospel} that doesn’t celebrate the elite, but embraces the outlier, outcasts, and overlooked!”
