Through the story of the Israelites in the wilderness and Jesus in the wilderness, we see God filling emptiness with His Provision. Throughout various passages in the Old and New Testament, we see God filling emptiness with His presence – starting in the garden, then in the tent, in the flesh, by His Spirit, then ultimately, face to face. In the book of Ruth, we see God filling emptiness with His grace. Through the story of Mephibosheth and King David, we see an example of God filling our emptiness with His kindness. God fills our emptiness with His Life, which we will see through the prophet Jeremiah and with the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. In the book of Ecclesiastes, we learn that God fills our emptiness with meaning, and then in the book of Habakkuk, He fills our emptiness with faith. In the last chapter, we will learn that God fills our emptiness with joy as we look at the story of the rich young ruler and some parables in Matthew. God wants to do the same for you!
