The Current Years

2011-Present

The History of Patterson Park Church

Patterson Park Church has come a long way since that first meeting in the Ashworth home. We’ve seen droughts, and we’ve seen storms, but God has been faithful to preserve our fellowship far beyond our deserving.
We know that we live in perilous times. But we also know that we serve a God who is wise and good and powerful, and His is altogether trustworthy.

So we look to the future with confidence, but not because of our own wisdom and resources; our confidence lies in the promises of our faithful God, who has so often demonstrated His wisdom, power, and love in watching over His own.
Only He knows what the coming years will bring in challenges and opportunities for our fellowship. We know only that all our trust is in the One who has called us. As we lean into Him, He will equip us and each step into a future that only He knows.
To our ever-faithful God be the glory.

Highlights

"Soon after moving into the new campus, 1991 or 1992, leadership thought it good to advertise in the Yellow Pages. Somehow Dale Kurtz and the Deacons asked us if we'd be in the ad. We warned Dale that if so, we'd become "Mr. and Mrs. Patterson Park". No argument from those in charge.  Years later, around 2000, when Keith Moore was a candidate, He came to me and said, "You must be somebody important, you're in the Phone Book." I kind of laughed that off and said it must be because Nelle was so photogenic."
