The world lost a bright, spirited soul on May 3, 2026, when Linda Kay Dixon (Truax) passed away after a long battle with Myotonic Dystrophy. Born on April 2, 1947, Linda lived her 79 years with fierce love, humor, and a spark that never dimmed.
Linda leaves behind her devoted husband of 58 years, Robert Dixon; her daughter Lisa Janness (Dixon); son-in-law Eric Janness; and her beloved grandson Luke, who lit up her life. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Roger Truax and Anna Lee Hupp; her brother Paul Truax; and her son Robert Gary Dixon Jr.
Linda found joy in the simple things that brought people together—golfing, bowling, and long card games filled with laughter and friendly competition. She was especially proud of her 1990 hole-in-one, a perfect 145-yard shot that she talked about with a twinkle in her eye for decades.
Her friendships were sacred to her. The time she spent with her close girlfriends—sharing stories, confiding in one another, and laughing until they cried—was among the greatest joys of her life.
Linda loved her family with a depth that shaped every part of who she was. She was sweet, she was feisty, and she was wonderfully, authentically herself. While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her loved ones are grateful that her struggle is over, and her spirit is finally at rest.
A memorial service for Linda’s life will be held Sunday, June 28th at Patterson Park Church, 3655 E Patterson Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45430 at 2 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation. Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation
