My name is Bruce Comers and I have been part of the Patterson Park Church family for nine years. Presently I am serving in the Special Connections/Trek ministries where I am blessed to help students weekly and to be part of the teaching team. I have also served
as a greeter and usher.
I grew up in Toledo, Ohio, where I met my wife Terry. We have been married for 40 years. We are blessed with three wonderful children and their spouses: Luke (Katie), Andrew (Heidi), and Katelynn (Michael) and five precious grandchildren.
Sensing God's call to the ministry, I attended and graduated from Tennessee Temple University and Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. I pastored three churches in the Columbus area over the course of 23 years. As a bi-vocational pastor, I worked as a driver for Fedex Ground and as a courier for Labcorp. I retired from Labcorp at the end of December.
My interests include reading theology, biographies, and American history (the Civil War, World War 2, D-Day). One interest the Lord revealed to me only a couple of years ago is spending time weekly with the students of Special Connections, which is one the greatest blessings I've ever experienced in ministry.
I look forward to continuing to serve the Lord at Patterson Park in my present ministries and as a nonvocational Elder.
